Tombstone Tales, Halloween Afternoon ,
October 31st
This special Halloween Performance of the Tombstone Tales came off on the first sunny day in a week. The ground was soggy, but the sky was blue and spirits were high. Interest in these famous local characters was also high. There was much admiration of our ancestors’ triumphs and sorrow at their tragedies.

Sharing Reflections on SCHS Web Site
Our SCHS web site has a new page for sharing reflections! (Reflections page) There is a set topic for us to reflect on and share. The topic will remain for the whole quarter. Our first topic was waking up on a cold winter morning as a child. Our new topic starting in April is spring flooding. Please add your bit to the discussion!

New in March...
New SCHS officers installed
The 2009 SCHS officers were installed at the February board meeting by Lindbergh School District superintendent, Jim Simpson. Installation traditionally is done at the January quarterly meeting, but the big snow led to our no show. All is fixed now. See photos of the installation and a listing of the officers on the Board page.

2009 Meeting schedule rearranged
Again, the big snow and the cancellation of our January meeting has caused us to swap around the meeting schedule for the year. See the revised schedule on the Upcoming Presentations page.

New SCHS web site goes live!
March is the time for renewal, and the Sappington-Concord Historical Society has a new web site to prove it! It is chocked full of features and information for our members and the community at large. Check it out and see what is in it for you. It is all about added value for your membership fees and your commitment to keeping local history alive for us all.
To make comments, go to the Contact page.

Happy Birthday SCHS!
February 13th, 2009 was the 17th anniversary of our organization!
It’s SCHS membership renewal time!
Most of us renew our SCHS membership at the January meeting, but this year we got snowed out. Well, the big snow flow has led to a low cash flow! Only you can fix that! Remember what a value your membership is of $10 for an individual for the year, and $15 for a couple for the year. We have our four quarterly meetings, plus the special events and our newsletter. Then there are the preservation and education activities only we do so well! We are a good value in these tough economic times! Write your check and address your envelope today! Go to membership page for the mailing address.
Or pay in person at the April 22nd meeting. Details
Remember that when you join and renew, we make history together!
