Wednesday, June 20 Bus Tour to
Kahokia Mounds
We will drive to Kahokia in the comfort of a tour bus with restroom facilities. We will tour the interpretative center and have lunch following our tour at a restaurant in the area. This is a walking tour. The cost of the bus and the lunch is $37 per person. To reserve your seat, call Stephen Hanpeter at 314-918-1617. Come see this phenomenal site of world-wide importance right in our very own back yard. There is also a new interpretative center and other new facilities.

SCHS conducted a bus tour on
Monday, July 13th

Society members conducted the tour of the Sappington-Concord area, pointing out various plantations, farms, and houses of the early pioneer families.  A stop was made at the Bishop-Long log house where we got an explanation of how a log cabin is constructed.  Another stop was at the Sappington Cemetery where John Sappington, Revolutionary War veteran, and others of the extended Sappington family are buried.

Just a reminder that the SCHS runs bus tours for school groups as part of the Past and  Present Partnership Program.
