Grown and Gathered Heirloom Farm, is a newly formed non-profit to continue farming the land at the Ross A Wagner Historical Center. It will help Sappington-Concord Historical Society preserve the history of the crops and farming methods Ross Wagner and his family used on their farm. It will contrast the historical truck farm with the modern day urban farm. It will provide educational programs and demonstrations relating to farming, gardening, food, health and sustainability.
Grown and Gathered Heirloom Farm was created by Noelle Wagner. Meet Noelle next Saturday night, June 2, 2018 at the Ross A Wagner Historical Center at 9148 Sappington Road, 63126. The event is open house-stye from 5:00 to 8:00 pm. Learn about the new Grown and Gathered Heirloom Farm from Noelle in person. She will talk about the completely planted north field, work done to restore the Concord grapes, and upcoming events at the farm.
Noelle says of the event, “Join us as we celebrate our first growing season as Grown & Gathered Heirloom Farm. I will be on hand to talk about projects, what is growing, volunteer opportunities, recipes, or whatever you’d like to talk about. There will be a bit of spring produce for sale, art for sale, light refreshments and live music. I will also be supplying a list in a post (on Facebook) as to what sort of donations we will be happy to receive, mainly tools and equipment. I look forward to meeting you all!”
