Arrival at Lindbergh High School

After arrival at Lindbergh High School of the AVTT Vietnam Veterans Memorial Traveling Wall by escort on Wednesday, June 12, 2013, there will be a simple program, or ceremonial welcome, at Lindbergh High School.

In the escort motorcade, the AVTT Traveling Wall will follow at the end of the procession of the group of vehicles and riders. It will exit at Lindbergh High School and be directed to the designated place on the parking lot. All other escort vehicles will park in the lower parking lot in front of the Lindbergh High School Commons. See map. No formal program has been planned due to the large number of vehicles and people anticipated however; there will be brief welcoming statements.

Of course spectators along the route are also welcome. See Viewing Escort along Route. See also Google map of the escort’s route.

Area dignitaries and Vietnam veterans that would like to make brief welcoming statements when the AVTT Traveling Wall arrives should assemble near the stage at the high school and be introduced by Butch Thomas, President of the Sunset Hills Historical Society. The first to speak will be the Honorable Lt. Ed Sweeney (U.S Army Vietnam veteran). Butch Thomas will direct others to the speakers stand as they come forward.

The AVTT Traveling Wall will be open at 1:00 pm on June 13 after it has been assembled. Volunteers will be on hand to answer questions and give assistance where needed, especially with locating names on the wall. See the Visiting section of this website for more information. Wall rubbing sheets will be available.

The school auditorium directly in front of the entrance to Lindbergh High School will be open for access to water fountains and restroom facilities. No food or drink will be allowed in the auditorium. Volunteers will be available to provide assistance and answer questions. See the Visiting section of this website for more information.
