Labor Day Film Festival – University of Missouri

Labor Day is almost here!  And whether you are planning to participate in the Labor Day parade, sneak out of town for the long weekend or just enjoy the great weather we have been experiencing, we have plans for you later in Labor Day Week!
Bread & Roses Missouri, the Labor Studies Program at the University of Missouri and the St. Louis Labor Council have conspired to bring you what we hope will be the 1st Annual Labor Day Week Film Fest!  Two nights, Sep 9 & 10, to gather at IBEW 1439 on 59th Street from 6 to 9 p.m. to enjoy FREE two outstanding films and FREE popcorn!  And you will have an opportunity to stay for a discussion after the film.

On Wednesday, September 9MATEWAN, written and directed by John Sayles, starring Mary McDonnell (Independence Day),David Stratham (The Firm) and James Earl Jones (Clear and Present Danger)

On Thursday, September 10: BREAD & ROSES, directed by Ken  Loach, starring Adrien Brody and Pilar Padilla, got “two thumbs way up” from Ebert & Roeper and the Movies!
