The park still remains at the center of the Sappington-Concord community\u00a0even though the ceremony is held elsewhere. The central focal point of the park is the polished red granite monument, the &#8220;World War II Honor Roll,&#8221; (photos below) which was first erected as a wooden monument during WW II in 1944 to list the names of those serving in the armed forces. The monument was re-built in 1995 through the combined efforts of SCHS and the Concord Village Lions Club.<\/p>\n<p><strong>See more about the Honor Roll and its reconstruction in the SCHS green book; <em>Sappington-Concord: A History<\/em>,<\/strong> pages 164 and 297.
